INTRODUCTION

India is one of the major tourist spots in the world. With all the thrilling and adventure places located in India makes it more exciting. It has been seen that winter starts in the month of November and lasts till February. Due to this large number of people start their journey in December and go to various places to experience trekking. These places are very cold in nature. It creates a huge impact on the trekkers to enjoy and satisfy their journey with thrills and excitement.

There are various places for winter trekking in India. These places are as follows-

Kedarkantha Trek

The trek to Kedarkantha requires six to eight days’ time and is one of the popular known treks in India situated in Uttarakhand. It has summit climbing which is one the most difficult climbing in India. The long and tall trees with slight sunlight entering from the sky to the land makes the whole experience pleasant and alluring. It creates a drastic change from the sunrise to the sunset with different shades of landscape, rivers etc. People here are very friendly in nature and helpful but sometimes the crowd creates a negative impact as it leads to discomfort.

Hampta Pass Trek 

Hapmta pass is a rare and dramatic crossover trek in the Himalayas. With an elevation of 14,000 feet and a high difficulty level create a thrilling experience in the mind of the trekkers. It is like the most enhanced trekking in India which requires skill and power to accomplish the journey. While performing between the Hampta pass, there is a spiti valley which is known for its barren stretches and the alluring blue sky. It mostly requires six to seven days for covering about 26 kilometres with lots of difficulties, power and energy in order to experience thrill and excitement.

Markha valley Trek 

A very known and popular trek in the Ladakh region is the Markha valley trek. It is among one of the best trekking destinations in India. It has a maximum altitude of 5150 meters. It is a winter wonderland trek in India.

It starts with dry mountains, streams and small villages with a variety of flowers and the fields of wheat, barley and mustard. It represents the ancient Tibetan culture where people believed in Buddhism. Trekking here will be etched in the memory of people for a long time. People also come here for photography purposes and to connect with nature. This place is mainly suitable for trekkers in the mid of June to mid of October. Its duration varies from seven to eight days. It has moderate difficulty. There is a stunning river valley named as Markha in   Hemis National Park. The trek involves some waist-deep river crossing along with high pass mountains.

Chadar Trek

The Chadar trek is a magical land located in ladakh. As ladakh has many numerous natural wonders which include the chadar trek. This place is very cold in nature and also one of the most exciting treks in India. It comes in the top five trekking places in India. It requires nine to ten days duration with approx 60 kilometers and has a maximum altitude of 11,112 feet. It is also considered as a rough trekking with a high difficulty and risk. This trek can be done best in the months of January and February. The nearest airport is the Leh airport in Kushok Bakula Rimpochee.

With a white snow and heavy mountains touching the blue sky, the slow rain, tall trees with clear roads  creates an enticing prospect of nature. Most of the people come here for photography and shooting purposes to capture a masterpiece.

They can also do hill climbing, ziplining, skiing, snow fighting, gliding and various other activities depending upon their need. It also has a frozen lake which looks like walking on crystal for real.

Brahmatal Winter Trek

It is located in the region of Uttarakhand (Raithal). It requires a duration of seven to eight days and has a moderate difficulty level. This trek is done between the two mountains- Mt Trishul and Mt Nanda Ghunti. This trek is done in order to attain satisfaction and experience thrill in the journey. It is ideal for the people looking for trekking in this region. The white sheet of snow everywhere creates a heaven like feel with various landscapes over the mountains.

We can conclude that winter trekking not only provides adventure in life but also connects with the natural environment. The fascinating scenes with different landscapes also attract more people to experience thrill and adventure in life.
