PMI Certifications: How Many Certification Courses Does the PMI Offer?

This number has increased significantly in recent years. In addition to the PMP certification, the Project Management Institute (PMI) provides seven more certificates, with a few additional certifications in the works. A GAC-accredited program or its worldwide equivalent, or at least two years or 24 months of unique non-overlapping professional project management experience, is required for those with bachelor’s or postgraduate degrees.

PMP certification requires that you complete 35 contact hours of instruction.

The validity of this qualification is three years. By completing 60 PDUs over the course of three years, you may renew your certification. On-going certification requirements are a part of the CCR cycle.

PgMP (Program Management Professional)

If you manage comparable projects, you may apply for this certification. An associate’s or a bachelor’s degree is required for consideration for this certification. Project management and program management expertise are required for diploma holders. A four-year degree will need you to have 6,000 hours of project management and 6,000 hours of program management experience. The validity of this qualification is three years. fMP for PfC (Portfolio Management Professional)

Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

For business analysts, this accreditation is necessary. As a business analyst with a bachelor’s degree, you should have at least 7,500 hours of work experience. A bachelor’s degree holder must complete 4,500 hours of service before they may apply. A minimum of 2,000 hours of project management experience is required, as is completion of a 35-hour business analysis training course. The validity of this certificate is three years. After completing 60 PDUs in business analysis areas, you may extend your PMI PBA certification for an additional three years.

PMI with Risk Management Plan (PMI-RMP) (PMI Risk Management Professional)

Risk management requires 4,500 hours of experience for those with a diploma. The required number of hours for those with a degree is 3,500. In addition, you must complete a risk management training program of at least 30 contact hours.

Diploma holders are required to put in 40 hours of training, whereas 4-year degree holders are simply need to put in 30 hours of training. The validity of this qualification is three years. After finishing the CCR program, which requires 30 PDUs in risk management, you may extend your certificate for an additional three years.

SP is an acronym for Project Management Institute (PMI Scheduling Professional)

A project scheduling and planning certification is required for those who want to further their careers. You’ll need a bachelor’s degree and at least 5,000 hours of project scheduling experience. After that, you’ll need to complete 40 hours of schedule management training. After that, you’ll be qualified to take the certification exam by Sprintzeal. You should have 3,500 hours of project scheduling experience if you have a 4-year degree. After that, you should enroll in a 30-hour course on time management. The validity of this certificate is three years. 30 PDUs in schedule management are required for a three-year renewal.
